Albert B. Aquila joined the Firm in 1994 and he immediately became one of the Firm’s most effective medical malpractice litigators. As a result of his hard work, dedication and the impressive results he obtained for his clients, Mr. Aquila was put in charge of one of the Firm's Medical Malpractice departments when he became a Member in 2002. Al’s training has provided him with the ability to prepare and try medical malpractice cases in all areas of medicine. His representation of the Firm's clients who have been victims of medical malpractice has resulted in the recovery of many substantial verdicts and settlements. Among his verdicts was an award of $1.75 million in a case involving an 11-year-old girl who lost her vision in one eye when a neurosurgeon negligently removed a benign bone tumor that was located above the eye. Al obtained a $2.35 million settlement for the family of a man who suffered a fatal heart attack as a result of the failure to properly diagnose his cardiac symptoms, and he recovered $1.5 million for the family of a 38-year-old woman who died due to a delay in diagnosing her lung cancer. Al also handles product liability cases when they involve defective medical devices used by physicians. Al graduated from St. John's University School of Law in 1993, and is a member of the American Association for Justice and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New York.
