Firm Of Counsel James Wilkens Featured in New York Law Journal Verdicts Hall of Fame for Three Substantial Verdicts

The attorneys at Sullivan Papain Block McManus Coffinas & Cannavo P.C. are pleased to announce that firm attorney James Wilkens, Of Counsel, was featured in the New York Law Journal’s Verdicts Hall of Fame.
The New York Law Journal Verdicts Hall of Fame features New York’s highest-ranking verdicts from 2010-2019, in which Wilkens was featured three separate times for substantial verdicts awarded to victims of medical malpractice in the past decade.
The first of Wilkens’s verdicts acknowledged in the New York Law Journal was a medical malpractice case that reached a $60,000,000.00 settlement in a Kings County court after a gastroesophageal surgery was doomed by sutures, the lawsuit alleged. The verdict was reached in October 2011.
The second of Wilkens’s medical malpractice verdicts that made it into the New York Law Journal’s Verdicts Hall of Fame totaled $26,190,000.00 in a Kings County court in October 2017. A doctor’s inaction led to the premature birth of girls, alleged the mother and medical malpractice victim in the case.
Wilkens was featured in the New York Law Journal for the third time regarding a 2019 verdict totaling $18,079,716.00 in a Bronx County court for a mother whose child suffered a birth injury due to the doctor’s mismanagement. To read the full verdict report, click here.
