GLP-1 RA Litigation
Overview of GLP-1 RA Medications
GLP-1 receptor agonists—including Ozempic® and Wegovy® (Novo Nordisk) and Mounjaro® and Zepbound® (Eli Lilly)—were originally developed to treat Type 2 diabetes and, later, obesity. These medications have grown rapidly in popularity due to their effectiveness in promoting weight loss.
However, as their use has expanded, reports of serious and potentially life-altering adverse effects have emerged.
Emerging Safety Concerns
Patients using GLP-1 medications have reported severe gastrointestinal complications and other adverse events that may not have been fully disclosed or adequately warned against.
Reported complications include:
- Gastroparesis (stomach paralysis)
- Cyclical vomiting
- Intestinal blockages and obstructions
- Ileus
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
Many patients describe persistent and debilitating symptoms, including the inability to properly digest food, repeated hospitalizations, and long-term gastrointestinal damage.
