At Sullivan Papain, we have always believed in the power of community, and recent events in New York City offered a powerful reminder of that truth.
In early February, firefighters, community leaders, and supporters came together in Manhattan to stand beside the Cashion family as they face an unimaginable challenge. Four-year-old Izzy Cashion, the daughter of FDNY Lieutenant Tim Cashion of Engine 46, is battling Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and aggressive form of pediatric brain cancer.
The gathering, held just before the St. John’s vs. UConn basketball game, was organized to raise awareness and support for Izzy and her family as they prepare for intensive medical treatment. Members of the fire service community and supporters from across New York showed up in strength, demonstrating the unity and compassion that define this city.
Sullivan Papain was honored to stand with the community during this meaningful event. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting first responders and the families who sacrifice so much, our firm presented a $10,000 donation to the New York Firefighters Foundation to assist families like the Cashion’s and bring awareness to their mission.
