Liza Milgrim, Esq. Obtains $1.7 Million Settlement for 54-Year-Old Municipal Worker

Liza Milgrim, Esq. obtained a $1,700,000 settlement in Nassau County for a 54-year-old municipal worker after being injured at a tire repair shop. A 600-pound tire, improperly secured on a forklift by the shop’s employee, fell from the back of a truck and struck the plaintiff, causing him to fall and suffer a concussion, bilateral shoulder injuries, and cervical and lumbar herniations. These injuries required cervical fusion and rotator cuff repair surgery and prevented him from returning to work. Despite the defendant’s claim that the injuries were due to pre-existing degenerative conditions, the case was resolved through mediation.
