SPBMCC Member Mark A. Apostolos Secures $825,000 Settlement for Wrongful Death

On May 24, 2023, SPBMCC Firm Member Mark A. Apostolos secured an $825,000 settlement for the family of a woman struck by a vehicle while crossing the street and died from her injuries.

Woman Killed by Vehicle While Crossing Within a Crosswalk

A woman was killed while walking within a crosswalk on the Bronx River Parkway in Westchester. According to a police investigation, she was walking across despite not having a walk signal. 

Despite Green Light, Case Settles for $825,000

According to the police investigation and reconstruction of the accident, the vehicle that struck the plaintiff had a green light. Still, Apostolos proved that the driver was violating the speed limit when she was struck and that the municipality had previously failed to replace the street lamp on the corner where she was struck. The case was settled in Westchester County Supreme Court for $825,000 just prior to trial.
