On June 1, 2022, SPBMCC Partner Liza Milgrim secured a $1.25 million settlement for a project engineer who fell 20 feet from a ship ladder and suffered a fracture that required two surgeries.
22-Year-Old Man Suffers Fracture After Falling From Ship Ladder
The plaintiff, while trying to close a hatch door as he descended a ship ladder fell approximately 20 feet and suffered a comminuted calcaneus fracture. He underwent open reduction internal fixation surgery to repair the fracture and a second surgery to remove most of the hardware. As the plaintiff continued to work remotely, there was no lost earnings claim.
