93-Year-Old Woman Suffers Injury After Slipping on Ice
In February 2022, a few days following a large snowfall, a 93-year-old woman was in a van owned by the senior center. When she arrived at the senior center, she slipped and fell on ice that was on the walkway, fracturing her hip and requiring open reduction and internal fixation surgery (ORIF).
The woman, who previously lived independently and was in good health, took a hard fall that changed her life completely. Not only did she need surgery to deal with her injuries, but she can no longer live independently and is forced to move into an assisted living center.

SPBMCC Partner Liza Milgrim represented the plaintiff in this case and argued that the defendant was negligent and failed to maintain and inspect the property before inviting others onto it following the snowfall.
