On Sept. 12, 2022, SPBMCC Partners Liza Milgrim and David J. Dean secured a $3.5 million settlement for the family of a woman who fell down the stairs at a train station.

55-Year-Old Woman Dies After Falling Down Stairs

The plaintiff was at the Fulton Street train station in Brooklyn when a depressed clean-out plug on the staircase’s landing caused her to trip and fall down a flight of stairs, striking her head in the process. She suffered a fractured skull, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and subdural hematoma, necessitating a bilateral craniotomy, and remained hospitalized in a vegetative state for nearly four years until she died from complications stemming from her injuries.  She is survived by four adult children and a 13-year-old child.
