She suffered a fractured skull, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and subdural hematoma, necessitating a bilateral craniotomy, and remained hospitalized in a vegetative state for nearly four years until she died from complications stemming from her injuries. She is survived by four adult children and a 13-year-old child.
