Caputo and McGrath Obtain $6 Million For Motorcycle Accident Victim
May 6, 2022 in Motor Vehicle Accidents
SPBMCC Partners Deanne Caputo and Chris McGrath successfully recovered $6 million for a young woman who suffered severe and life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash.
Plaintiff and Her Father Suffer Serious Injuries in Queens Motorcycle Accident
In September 2015, a 23-year-old woman and her father were riding a motorcycle in Queens, New York; her father was operating the motorcycle and she was a passenger. As they traveled straight through an intersection, a van making a left turn collided with the motorcyclists. Despite wearing helmets, both the young woman and her father were seriously injured in the collision.
The young woman–who SPBMCC represented–suffered multiple fractures and lacerations in addition to head trauma. Many of her injuries required emergency medical intervention and she underwent eight surgeries to repair the physical damage inflicted on her. Despite corrective surgery, the plaintiff’s injuries have left permanent impacts and continue to affect and restrict her day-to-day life.
In addition to her physical injuries, the plaintiff also suffered a loss of income, as her injuries prevented her from being able to work.
SPBMCC Attorneys Caputo and McGrath Obtain Substantial Settlement for Motorcycle Accident Victim
The young motorcycle accident victim sought out legal representation through SPBMCC. Firm Partner Deanne Caputo acted as the responsible and settling attorney for the passenger motorcyclist on the case, and Senior Partner Chris McGrath assisted as an additional settling attorney. Caputo and McGrath successfully represented the accident victim in the matter and obtained $6 million to help relieve the plaintiff’s pain and suffering and loss of income.
Regarding the case, Deanne said, “while our client is on the road to recovery, her injuries left a long-term impact that dramatically affects her day-to-day life. The settlement we recovered will help her maintain a better quality of life while she undergoes rehabilitation for the trauma she experienced.”
