$24 Million Settlement For Construction Worker Run Over By An Excavator

The NYC personal injury attorneys at SPBMCC obtained a $24 million settlement for a construction worker who was run over by a reverse-moving excavator resulting in the loss of one leg and multiple internal injuries. The operator could not see behind the machine and there was no spotter in position to guide the operator rearward or to ensure that no one was in its path of travel. Further, the machine was not equipped with a rearward visual aid, such as a rear-mounted mirror or camera, to provide the operator with a view behind the machine.
